ENDORSEMENT ALERT: Run For Something Endorses Josh Tutt for Texas Senate District 18

Hey folks!

This is gonna be a quick update, but I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss today’s big news:

Run For Something—one of the biggest organizations in the country recruiting and supporting young, progressive political candidates in down-ballot races—just announced TODAY that they’re endorsing me for office in Texas Senate District 18!

Texas State Senate
District 18
Texas

The endorsement process included an extensive internal review, complete with a background check, staff interview, and review from local state experts. It’s humbling to see these folks who take the job so seriously publicly backing our campaign.

Run For Something was the very first group to encourage me to consider running for office. They’ve been instrumental in the good work happening in the changing face of Texas politics. By supporting down-ballot candidates who advocate for positive change, they are actively engaged in making home a better place for Texans. I’m both honored and exhilarated to have their support.

I really like the way RFS co-founder Amanda Litman said it: “There is no downtime. Our newest class of candidates are dedicated to leading change in their communities and pushing back against GOP-led initiatives, building on the work of nearly 2000 other Run for Something candidates. We are happy to continue to support progressive leaders on the state and local levels in 2022 and beyond.”

Here are some exciting facts about the folks RFS is endorsing today:

  • 65% identify as people of color
  • 48% identify as women (cisgender)
  • 42% identify as LGBTQIA+, with 26% being LGBTQIA+ people of color

If you’re excited about this news and want to help me keep the momentum going on the campaign trail, can you pitch in $20.22 to help me win in 2022?

Thanks to all of you for being in my corner from the beginning. I’m so excited about what’s ahead of us.

See you ‘round,
Josh
